YSB Becomes one of Five Pilot Sites in Illinois for Mental Health Care for Children Ages 0-7

YSB was one of 5 organizations in Illinois to be selected as a pilot site for the Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership Mental Health Consultation Project. The project will enhance and expand mental health services for children ages 0 to 7 in McHenry County. As a pilot site YSB will receive $25,000 in mental health consultation services and training to YSB therapists. This will increase YSB staff knowledge of the unique needs of this population. An additional $5,000 mini grant also was awarded to support the administrative costs associated with the project.

Young children can experience psychological trauma and mental health problems that can affect their ability to learn and develop socially and emotionally. Providing help to them early can head off more serious problems as they mature. As a pilot site YSB will participate on an Advisory Committee with the Illinois Mental Health Care Partnership for further development and finalization for the improvement of mental health care for this population.

YSB is a not-for-profit organization that has been caring for children and families for 30 years by providing affordable counseling and prevention services to the community. YSB is located at 101 South Jefferson Street in Woodstock.  For more information visit the YSB web site at www.ysb4kids.org, or call 815.338.7360.
