Youth Service
Welcome
to our organization's presence on the World Wide Web. We've packed it with
information about our agency, our services, programs and philosophy. The agency and its service providers are committed to maintaining the family as a unit by providing outpatient services whenever possible, consistent with the independent exercise of sound professional judgment. The
YSB
is a tremendous resource of information on programs for area children and families.
We encourage you to call upon us at any time.
Let us share with you the many benefits offered by one of McHenry County's
leading social service agencies.
The Youth Service Bureau was founded
in 1975 by a citizen’s group interested in assuring the availability of affordable
counseling services for young people of the county and their families.
YSB is a not-for-profit agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Youth
Service Bureau is supported by a variety of local, state, and national resources,
including the Mental Health Resource League; United Way of McHenry County; McHenry
County Mental Health Board; State Department of Children and Family Services;
State Department of Mental Health, and the Federal Department of Health and Human
Services. All
services are offered to residents of the county on a fee schedule that may be
adjusted according to family income. No
one is refused services because of inability to pay fees. The
agency is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations,
licensed by Department of Children and Family Services and Office of Alcohol and
Substance Abuse and certified to provide Medicaid services. WHAT
