Woodstock Curves Cares for Kids

Curves, located at 1039 Lake Avenue in Woodstock, has set up a tree with gift ornaments on it for the young clients of the YSB.  The tree was been in place since the beginning of December.  The club members are encouraged to take a gift request ornament off the tree and shop for a gift.  There are approximately 60 gifts under the tree so far.  Curves had it’s grand opening in September, and is already showing it is a company that cares for the community it does business in.

Little infant sleepers and outfits hang from the tree at Curves and gifts surround it. The infant gifts will go to the T.A.M.I. (Teenage Mothers Initiative) Program.  Other toys, games, and educational gifts will be allocated to the children that attend the YSB managed Lakewood Resource Center.  The gifts will enrich and improve the holidays for the kids and families that these programs serve.

Curves owners Brenda and Daryl Swanson give the Curves Manager, Terri Knaack, the decision on how to participate in community giving.  Terri wanted to get involved with an organization whose main purpose was to help children.  Terri has a degree in elementary education and has been a Preschool Director.  She is an advocate for helping children and has offered to volunteer for YSB anytime.  This kind of giving helps YSB to continue serving the youth and families of McHenry County.

YSB is a not-for-profit organization that has been providing prevention programs and counseling services to youth and families in McHenry County since 1975. YSB is located at 101 South Jefferson Street in Woodstock.  For more information visit the YSB web site at www.ysb4kids.org, or call 815.338.7360.  To find out more about Curves call 815.206.5980.
