WHY: Provide children and families of McHenry County with access to free or low cost healthcare
WHERE: 101 South Jefferson Street, Woodstock
YSB becomes application agency for KidCare that provides free or low cost health care for eligible children and their families
In an effort to help children and families of McHenry County to be physically and mentally healthy, YSB has become an application agency for KidCare. KidCare was created by the State of Illinois as part of a federal initiative to provide uninsured or underinsured children with medical health care. YSB, as an application agency, will assist anyone in the county in applying for this insurance. YSB is now processing applications for KidCare at their 101 South Jefferson Street location. There is no cost to apply and it is open to everyone with children ages 18 and under, and pregnant women.
KidCare insurance plans are based on size of family and income levels. Even those who have insurance may receive KidCare to help pay premiums of employer or private insurance for children. The KidCare Moms & Babies Plan provides pregnant women with prenatal visits, delivery services, well-baby care and shots for pregnant women and their babies up to one year of age at no cost to their family. Anyone interested in applying for KidCare should call Eric Cowgill at YSB, 815.338.7360.
YSB is a not-for-profit organization that has been helping youth and families in McHenry County since 1975. YSB provides prevention programs and counseling services to youth and families. YSB is located at 101 South Jefferson Street in Woodstock. For more information visit the YSB web site at www.ysb4kids.org, or call 815.338.7360.
