$1600 Donated for Children's Services at YSB through Valentine sing
YSB earned $1,600 from its 'Have a Heart for Kids" fundraiser that involved professional and volunteer singers singing tunes over the phone lines on 2/14. The performers included Woodstock Mayor Brian Sager, the Beatles tribute band Stockwood, area nightclub singer Rob Webster, and YSB singers. 35 different songs were sung and some included guitar and keyboard accompanionment.
The songs were purchased by people interested in supporting a social cause and wanted something different for Valentines Day. Over 180 calls were made. One call went as far as Japan from a father to his son in the Navy. Other songs were sent to mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, friends, co-workers, and of course, lovers and married couples. A lot of good feelings were spread around by the songs. The money will be used for YSB counseling and prevention programs.
